Camellia oil has been used in Japan and China for the maintenance of weapons for centuries. It is the traditional oil for the maintenance of katanas.
While it is also used in cosmetics, as massage oil, in traditional Chinese medicine and even as a cooking oil, this product is packaged for blade maintenance and while considered non-toxic, should not be used for other purposes.
Tsubaki Oil prevents oxidation of steel by creating a protective film when it dries. It is therefore important to renew the application at least once a month.
Use :
After maintaining and cleaning your blade (maintaining the edges and guard, light sanding and polishing with a carbon steel cream), simply wipe the blade with a clean cloth impregnated with tsubaki (camellia oil) to prevent rusting.
